ALTHOUGH YOU NEED NOT BE PRESENT FOR YOUR JACKET SINCE THIS DATE HAS BEEN DETERMINED 1 YEAR AGO, AND AMPLE TIME HAS BEEN GIVEN SINCE RATINGS HAVE BEEN POSTED NO JACKETS WILL BE GIVEN TO OTHERS TO BRING BACK TO YOU. DUE TO POSSIBILITY OF LOSS AT BANQUET OR TOURNAMENT, IF YOU HAVE NOT NOTIFIED US YOU WILL BE THERE TO PICK UP JACKET, IT WILL BE MAILED. YOU MUST CALL TO MAKE SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS OR WE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU AT ANOTHER TOURNAMENT WE ATTEND. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO COMBINE ANY DIVISION IF LESS THAN 3 COMPETITORS IN DIVISION.

KUMITE RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Mouthpieces, Hand Pads, Foot Pads, Headgear and Groin Protectors are MANDATORY - no exceptions! Chest Protectors are recommended for females.
2. There will be no time limit - the first person to score three (3) points will be the winner.
3. Attacks are limited to the following areas: head, face, chest, abdomen, both sides of the body and back ( not including the center of the back ).
4. ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT to the face, neck, groin, throat or head except in Black Belt divisions where light contact to headgear is permitted.
5. Illegal contact will result in one warning with second offense resulting in immediate disqualification. The judges have the right to immediately disqualify a competitor if they determine contact is too severe or if blood is drawn.
6. All properly executed karate techniques will score a point including sweeps followed immediately by a strike. Any techniques that endangers the safety of the opponent (such as dangerous throws or takedowns, fingertip strikes to the eyes, wild swings, etc.) will result in disqualification.
7. Any fighter who intentionally steps ( without being forced ) out of the ring three (3) times will be warned of disqualification. On the fourth (4th) offense the fighter is disqualified.
8. A fighter may score as long as he has one foot in the ring.
9. Majority rules when awarding a point and determining contact. CENTER JUDGE DOES NOT HAVE AUTHORITY IN MAKING CONTACT CALLS WITHOUT MAJORITY RULE!
10. Any disrespect to officials, other competitors, etc. will not be tolerated. Infractions will result in warnings followed by immediate disqualification.
KATA & WEAPONS RULES
1. Uniforms must be presentable and traditional to your style or school. No T-Shirts in place of Gi tops! 2. Scoring will be on the point system utilizing 0.3, 0.5, & 0.7 increments (i.e, the squence proceeds 5.0, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, 6.3, etc.) 3. With 5 judges, high & low scores will be dropped 3. In the event of a tie the folowing procedure will be used: a. The low score will be added back in b. The high score will be added back in c.. If still tied, the competitor will perform same or different kata. Further tie will result in a tiebreaker of a show of hands. ______________________________________________________________________________
