| The World Karate Union Hall Of Fame was established in 1996 as a means to honor Martial Artists for their unselfish contributions to the Martial Arts. While some names are more recognizable than others, all are desrving of respect and acknowledgement. Nominees are selected through ballots which are distributed throughout the United States, Europe, Russia, South America, Canada, the West Indies, & Australia. The majority of inductees have been recommended directly by our Board Members and past inductees. The criteria is based on excellence in the Martial Arts and tireless devotion to the community. If a candidate is nominated or recommended in a particular category and is found to be better suited in another category, the World Karate Union reserves the right to change nomination. The World Karate Union has never bestowed rank or given any degrees to anyone. We do acknowledge a persons rank, however if one is looking to be promoted or bestowed a title or doctorate, that is not what we are about and there are many other organizations and hall of fames that will gladly accomodate you. We can even steer you in the right direction! The World Karate Union Hall Of Fame chooses its Board Members carefully and rely on them to verify credentials of nominees. Therefore our allegiance is to them. We will not tolerate any disrespect to them and strongly discourage the same. We expect the same. . From time to time, Board Members are changed or put on inactive list. This is of no disrespect to any past Board Member, they will always be a part of the World Karate Union but an organization is only as strong and enthusiatic as its members are. Enthusiasm is the key to forging new friendships! The World Karate Union Hall Of Fame has never played and will never play the "moronic" game of strict sole membership in this organization! We encourage new friendships. Isn't that what the "Brotherhood of the Martial Arts" is all about? We do not knock other organizations ( we agree to disagree on different issues), our members are in many different ones, we recommend candidates to other organizations and we have never tried to prevent anyone from joining another. Nor will you see on this site an exclusion of any member on our rosters who have attended any other functions. |
